APO interview: Adam Slaughter

Sports studies student Adam Slaughter is first up in our interviews with the candidates running to be Activities and Participation officer. Interview by Dejla Kadhim.

Why do you want to stand for the position?

Well, I’ve been in sport all my life and activities of all things, so I’ve seen students get involved in lots of different activities, but I’ve also seen people not get involved and I think there’s a definite area of students that we can target and try to get them involved in the activities that the university has to offer and hopefully create some more innovative, new events that people can get involved in. Activities and Participation race down to two candidates

From four to two in 24 hours. Siyan Chen has withdrawn as a candidate for the activities and participation officer position, this leaves current officer Kelly Burdett and Adam Slaughter to fight it out for the role. Considering that last year’s race between four candidates came down to just four votes we expect this year’s to be just as tight.
